Crypto Market Cap Hits $3 Trillion Solana Hyperliquid and Zcash Lead the Next Rally
The crypto market has rebounded significantly, with the total market capitalization crossing $3 trillion on October 2. This marks a 43% increase from $2.1 trillion at the end of June 2026, fueling optimism for a potential bull market rally. Among the cryptocurrencies gaining momentum, Solana, Hyperliquid, and Zcash stand out as strong contenders for investors already holding Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Solana has seen a 50% price surge over the past three months, partly due to the SEC's "innovation exemption" issued on September 17. This regulatory change allows qualifying crypto venues to trade tokenized stocks without registering as exchanges, boosting Solana's tokenization and launchpad ecosystems. Platforms like Pump.fun have introduced new features, such as pairing meme tokens with tokenized assets, driving fresh activity on the network.
Hyperliquid, a decentralized exchange for derivatives, has been a leader in token buybacks. It funded 58% of crypto's token buybacks through August, with 97-99% of its transaction fees used for open-market purchases of its token, HYPE. The SEC's statement on September 25 clarified that buybacks of non-security tokens on working networks do not raise securities concerns, adding to Hyperliquid's growth potential.
Zcash, a privacy-focused coin, is emerging as a new store of value. With a capped supply of 21 million ZEC and a halving event estimated for November 24, 2028, Zcash's supply policies reward early buyers. Its 952% gain over the last 12 months highlights its strong performance, driven by its combination of controlled supply and privacy features.
