Crypto Market Cap Hits $3 Trillion Solana, Hyperliquid, and Zcash Lead the Charge
The total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies surpassed $3 trillion on October 2, marking a significant recovery from the bear market. This figure represents a 43% increase from the $2.1 trillion recorded at the end of June 2026, sparking optimism about a potential new bull market rally.
Three cryptocurrencies that have gained momentum recently and could be strong contenders for the next bull market are Solana (SOL), Hyperliquid (HYPE), and Zcash (ZEC). These coins are expected to lead any new uptrend due to their strong performance since the bear market's bottom in late June.
Solana's price has risen by 50% over the last three months, partly due to the SEC's 'innovation exemption' issued on September 17. This exemption allows qualifying crypto venues to trade tokenized stocks without registering as exchanges, boosting activity on Solana's ecosystem. Additionally, Hyperliquid, a decentralized exchange for derivatives, has funded 58% of crypto's token buybacks through August, making it a key player in the market.
Zcash, a privacy-focused coin, has seen a 952% gain over the last 12 months. With a fixed supply of 21 million ZEC and a halving event estimated for November 24, 2028, Zcash is emerging as a potential store of value, competing with Bitcoin in the long run.
