Crypto Market Cap Regains $3 Trillion as ETF Inflows Broaden Rebound
The cryptocurrency market's total capitalization has regained $3 trillion intraday, showing an upward trend. According to recent reports, the broader market rebound grew as Bitcoin and major altcoins strengthened together. On September 22nd, Bitcoin traded near $86,000, while Ether stood at $2,745, and XRP was at $1.57.
Among large-cap tokens, Dogecoin rose about 11 percent, showing a relatively strong move. The total cryptocurrency market capitalization was slightly below $3 trillion on the day but rose about 4.3 percent from a day earlier. It briefly moved above $3 trillion intraday, suggesting a Bitcoin-led rebound spread across altcoins.
Market funds have been moving in both spot and derivatives markets at the same time. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw $1 billion of inflows on September 21st alone, which was the largest daily inflow since October 2025. This supported Bitcoin's price rebound and helped drive buying interest into altcoins.
Speculative leverage is also building quickly in derivatives markets. Open interest in cryptocurrency perpetual futures rose to about $160 billion, the highest since late October 2025. When prices surged on September 21st, more than $920 million of positions betting on declines were liquidated, suggesting that leverage can amplify price moves in either direction if the market becomes one-sided.
