Crypto Market Crashes Amid US-Iran Tensions and Soaring Oil Prices
The global cryptocurrency market has experienced a significant downturn, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP plummeting in value. This decline is attributed to the recent US strikes on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, which have sent oil prices soaring above $90 per barrel.
As a result of this geopolitical shock, investors are trading defensively, leading to a significant drop in cryptocurrency values. Bitcoin has fallen to $76,926.53, down 2.2% over the past day, while Ethereum and XRP have also experienced declines of 3.0% and 3.7%, respectively.
Analysts warn that Bitcoin could retest the ~$70,000 zone, a roughly 20% pullback similar to its 2023 bottoming pattern, before any decisive breakout. This would signal short-term downside for token performance and adoption.
