Crypto Market Dives on Oil Price Surge and Clarity Act Uncertainty
The cryptocurrency market took a hit on July 23 as Bitcoin slid to $65,047.34, down 1.56% from its previous price. Ethereum and Solana also fell, with prices dropping 2.57% and 2.43%, respectively.
This decline was partly due to the increasing likelihood of oil prices rising and Treasury yields climbing, which weighed on investor confidence. Additionally, the window for passing the Clarity Act is narrowing, and there's less hope that legislators will move forward with it in August.
The Clarity Act would provide a clear framework for handling digital assets in the U.S., which could help stabilize the market. However, investors remain cautious, and prices slipped further as oil prices soared and the Nasdaq Composite fell over 2%.
