Crypto Market Edges Higher Despite Renewed ETF Outflows
The cryptocurrency market is showing resilience despite renewed outflows from digital asset exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP are trading higher, with Bitcoin up 1.2% to $67,840, Ethereum gaining 0.8% to $3,520, and XRP climbing 1.5% to $0.62, according to CoinMarketCap data.
Data from Farside Investors shows that spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net outflows of $105 million on Wednesday, while Ethereum ETFs saw $12 million in outflows. Analysts attribute the market's ability to absorb these outflows to growing institutional interest in crypto derivatives and a broader risk-on sentiment in traditional markets.
James Butterfill, head of research at CoinShares, noted that 'The ETF outflows are notable, but they are not yet signaling a trend reversal.' He added that strong inflows into futures-based products and stablecoin reserves are offsetting some of the spot outflows.
The broader crypto market capitalization has risen 1.1% to $2.3 trillion, with trading volumes up 12% over the past 24 hours. This rally is partly driven by positive developments in the regulatory landscape, including the recent approval of a spot Ethereum ETF in Hong Kong and hints of clearer rules in the U.S. Congress.
