Crypto Market Pulls Back Amid DeFi Security Concerns
Bitcoin's price dipped to $77,602 over the past 24 hours, marking a 0.5% decline from its previous day's value. This pullback comes after last week's record-breaking rally.
The total crypto market capitalization also saw a decrease of 1.2%, settling at $2.67 trillion. Ethereum's price fell to $2,415, down 1.4% over the past day and 0.9% for the week.
XRP experienced a significant drop, losing 2.8% to reach $1.35, while Solana dropped 3.1% to $101.45. However, Solana's weekly performance shows an increase of 7.8%. BNB eased by 1.2% to $684.07.
A major development in the crypto space is the halt in operations by Cronos following a reported ~$75 million Tectonic oracle-manipulation hack. This event highlights the risks associated with DeFi security and oracle manipulation.
