Crypto Market Rebounds Amid Jobs Report Positioning and Easing Yields
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a recovery at the start of October, with Bitcoin and Ethereum regaining momentum. The broader market is back in focus as investors position themselves ahead of the U.S. jobs report. Strong September ETF inflows, shifting Federal Reserve rate expectations, and easing Treasury yields are supporting the recovery.
The latest rally has set up a crucial test for the crypto market's Q4 direction. Analysts expect payroll growth to slow to around 90,000 in September, while unemployment is forecast at 4.1%. This report will be critical for October rate expectations.
Institutional demand is another major support for the recovery. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted approximately $2.65 billion in September, but saw outflows of $148.7 million in the latest session after a nine-session inflow streak. Derivatives positioning is also recovering, with Bitcoin open interest rebuilding alongside price.
The market-wide rebound is driven by jobs-report positioning, Fed expectations, institutional flows, easing yields, and renewed derivatives activity. Bitcoin's price has reclaimed the $85,000 area, while Ethereum holds around $2,650-$2,700 after recovering above the $2,500 region.
