Crypto Market Sees $156M in Liquidations Over 24 Hours
Global cryptocurrency market liquidations have reached $156 million over the past 24 hours, affecting more than 66,000 traders. The majority of losses were due to short positions, with a total of $84.4999 million in liquidated short positions and $71.4803 million in long-position liquidations.
The difference between the two sides was about $13.02 million, indicating that more traders who took short positions against Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) were forced to close their positions at a loss.
Bitcoin (BTC) accounted for a significant portion of liquidated long positions, with $3.2834 million in losses, while its short position liquidations totaled $11.4438 million. Ether (ETH) recorded $6.5872 million in long liquidations and $8.3026 million in short liquidations.
The largest single liquidation order was valued at $3.3472 million on Hyperliquid’s XRP-USD market, highlighting the volatility of the cryptocurrency market.
