Crypto Market Sees Rally Amid CLARITY Act Hope and Fragile US-Iran Ceasefire
The crypto market has seen a rally in recent days due to hope surrounding the CLARITY Act, which could bring clarity and regulation to the industry. This optimism is also fueled by a fragile US-Iran ceasefire.
Legislators have made a final push on the bill, with even the US Secretary of the Treasury writing an opinion piece calling for Congress to act without delay. Other notable figures like Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Wyoming state Senator Cynthia Lummis have also spoken out in favor of the bill's passage.
The market has responded positively to these developments, with institutional investors increasing their demand for crypto again. The launch of Morgan Stanley's spot Bitcoin ETF on April 8 was a significant milestone, attracting $34 million in its first trading day and marking the company's best first-day performance since introducing the ETF product line.
Strategy, an investment firm, has also increased its Bitcoin holdings by acquiring 4,871 BTC for $329.9 million, bringing its total to 766,970 at an average purchase price of $75,694. The company plans to use future stock offerings to buy another $21 billion tranche of BTC.
As the market continues to consolidate, traders are cautious about the potential impact of war-related headlines on crypto prices. Brian Russ from 1971 Capital warns that failed rallies on good news are a classic bear market indicator and expects short-term rallies to fail.
