Crypto Market Soars as Fed Rate Hike Odds Plummet

The crypto market has seen a boost in value today, August 8, following a decline in US nonfarm payrolls data for July. This decrease reduces the likelihood of the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates in September.

According to prediction markets, the odds of the Fed raising interest rates during the September FOMC meeting have dropped to 37%. A majority of wagers, 63%, believe that the Fed will keep rates unchanged at between 3.50% and 3.75%.

The weak jobs market might lead the Fed to hold rates steady or even trim them, making risk assets like crypto more attractive to investors. This explains why the crypto market is up today.
