Crypto Market Stabilizes on Large Assets' Strength, But Weakness Persists
The crypto market appears stable at first glance, but beneath its surface, there are warning signs of weakness.
Total capitalization has held steady near $2.892 trillion, while gains have concentrated among a select few large assets. Bitcoin remains modestly positive, holding 58.92% of the total market cap and posting a +0.64% gain over seven days.
However, the broader market is facing challenges, with 63 out of the top 100 assets by market cap falling. The DeFi sector's performance is particularly concerning, with AAVE leading the way at +17.28%, but even this asset's growth may be isolated and not indicative of a broader rotation.
The payments basket posted a -2.61% median, and BCH retreated from its prior-week strength, falling -4.95%. The sector screens are mixed, with some assets showing resilience while others remain weak.
