Crypto Market Suffers Further Downturn as Bitcoin Hits $32,133
The cryptocurrency market has taken another hit, with Bitcoin experiencing its second consecutive day of losses. The world's biggest cryptocurrency fell to $32,133.18 on Thursday, a 6.14% decrease in value over the past 24 hours. This downturn has led some analysts to predict that Bitcoin could retest lower levels and potentially fall to $30,000.
Several top altcoins have also suffered significant losses, with Ether down by 9.51%, XRP declining by 7.39%, Dogecoin losing 9.72%, and Polkadot nursing losses of 10.21%. This widespread selling pressure suggests that the crypto market is facing a period of uncertainty.
Some institutional investors who purchased cryptocurrency earlier this year have been forced to book impairment charges, acknowledging that their investments have decreased in value. Meitu, a software company based in Hong Kong, has revealed losses of $17.3 million due to Bitcoin's poor quarter, but surprisingly secured paper profits of $14.7 million on Ether.
Despite the gloomy outlook, there are some signs of optimism. Visa has partnered with several companies to enable consumers to spend and convert cryptocurrency at over 70 million merchants worldwide. This development aims to simplify the use of digital assets in everyday transactions.
