Crypto Market Surges on Easing Geopolitical Tensions
The crypto market has seen a significant increase in value due to easing geopolitical tensions. A major military operation that the United States had been preparing was abandoned over the weekend, reducing some tension hanging over markets and helping trading open on a stronger note.
This shift quickly reached crypto derivatives, with net taker volume on Binance rising from $11 million to $618 million in about an hour. This is a large jump in buying activity in a short period, showing how quickly traders reacted.
Bitcoin then moved above $86,000, while the wider crypto market turned green. CoinMarketCap data also showed broad gains, with Bitcoin up 5% over 24 hours, Ethereum near $2,712 and gaining 5.38%, Solana rising 7.08%, XRP gaining 8.11%, and Cardano climbing 9.33%. Several other altcoins also posted strong daily gains.
However, one measure is giving traders a reason to stay careful - the Coinbase Premium Index has turned negative again after briefly moving above zero. This index compares the price of Bitcoin on Coinbase against its price on Binance and can point to stronger buying from U.S. traders or weaker demand or stronger selling pressure on Coinbase.
