Crypto Market Surpasses $3 Trillion as Bitcoin Rally Drives Growth
The cryptocurrency market has surpassed $3 trillion in value for the first time since January, driven by Bitcoin's rally. According to CoinGecko data cited by Bloomberg, the total value of digital assets has climbed back above the $3 trillion threshold.
Bitcoin led the charge, with its price briefly touching nearly $86,000 this week, its highest level since late January. The token remains down for the year and well below its October 2021 record above $126,000, but it has gained more than 8% over the past week and 34% over the past three months.
Analysts at Bitwise believe that the downturn is finished and expect a 'crypto spring', with growing blockchain transaction activity and involvement from firms like BlackRock driving the market up. However, others are warning of rising leverage in perpetual futures, which could lead to rapid price swings.
