Crypto Market Update: Ethereum Reserves Fall, Liquid Recovers BTC, and Visa Stablecoin Hits $20B
Ethereum's exchange reserves have reached a multi-year low of about 14.88 million ETH, down from approximately 21.30 million ETH in July 2025.
This decline comes as Ethereum's price has strengthened against Bitcoin over the past two months through September 8, 2026.
Liquid, a sidechain, received 3,400 BTC back into its federation wallet on September 7 after a reserve drain, but withdrawal access remains unconfirmed and public bridge nodes are still listed as experiencing a major outage.
Visa's stablecoin settlement volume has surpassed a USD 20 billion annualized run rate, up more than 15 times year over year, with over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs live globally in its fiscal second quarter.
