Crypto Market Whales Snapping Up Assets as Bear Market Nears End
According to CryptoQuant's latest report, large Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP holders have been accumulating their assets during recent market weakness. This behavior is often seen in the closing phase of a bear market.
The firm notes that the largest wallets, excluding exchanges and miners, have increased their combined balance of BTC to around 3.06 million ($64,961) this year. Buying accelerated after Bitcoin fell below $60,000 in June, although holdings remain below the 2025 cycle peak.
Ethereum's largest holders are also showing a strong accumulation trend, with wallets holding between 10,000 and 100,000 ETH reaching a record of 19.6 million ETH. Addresses with more than 100,000 ETH have added about 1.8 million ETH since mid-2025, lifting their holdings by roughly 70%.
However, CryptoQuant notes that smaller Ethereum holders are reducing their combined balance by around 2.7 million ETH since January, indicating a growing divide between large and smaller holders.
