Crypto Markets Brace for Inflation Data and Potential Rate Hike
Crypto markets are bracing for potential volatility as key economic data from the United States is set to be released. Bitcoin has been hovering around $80,000 after a recent drop of several thousand dollars. The upcoming Federal Reserve meeting on September 15 and 16 is expected to see an interest rate hike of 60%, with the Producer Price Index (PPI) release on Thursday being a crucial indicator of inflation.
The PPI is forecasted to rise by 0.4% month-on-month, with the annual rate increasing from 4.7% to 5.4%. This could intensify concerns about interest rate hikes and put pressure on Bitcoin. In contrast, weaker-than-expected inflation may strengthen buying pressure.
The week's events will also include a 10-year Treasury auction on Wednesday, which may only impact the crypto market if bond yields change significantly. On Friday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) will be published, with an annual inflation rate projected to be around 3.3% to 3.4%.
