Crypto Markets Plunge as Ethereum and Avalanche Take Heavy Hits
Crypto markets experienced broad selling pressure in evening trading, with most major digital assets recording notable losses. Ethereum took the biggest hit, plummeting 4.03% to $1,842.48, making it one of the sharpest single-session declines among large-cap coins. Avalanche was not far behind, falling 5.85% to $6.18 and becoming the worst performer across the tracked basket.
Bitcoin also declined, dropping 1.77% to $62,742.16, which put a damper on overall market sentiment as the bellwether asset struggled to hold its ground. Solana fell 2.64% to $71.75 and Dogecoin dropped 2.40% to $0.07, while XRP's decline of 0.94% to $1.06 was relatively more modest.
However, Cardano stood out as the evening's standout gainer, surging 7.37% to $0.17 and defying the prevailing mood across the wider digital asset space. BNB also managed to rise 0.82% to $575.15, providing a small pocket of strength.
