Crypto Markets Rally Post-Fed Rate Decision, Zcash Hits Record High
Crypto and stock markets rose in response to the Federal Reserve's rate decision on Wednesday. Bitcoin was up modestly at $76,642, according to CoinGecko, while total crypto market capitalization increased by 1.6% to $2.63 trillion.
The rally was broad-based, with 94 out of 100 constituents in the CoinDesk 100 index advancing over 24 hours. Zcash stood out, rising around 30% to a record high past $1,485 after Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang disclosed that his firm holds ZEC and views it as 'a private complement to Bitcoin.'
US equity futures also rose, with Nasdaq 100 futures gaining 1.04% and S&P 500 futures adding 0.81%. The dollar index dipped by 0.17%, while gold and silver gained.
