Crypto Markets Shifting Away from Extreme Volatility
Ben Nadareski, CEO of Solana-based decentralized finance platform Solstice, believes that the days of extreme boom-and-bust cycles in crypto markets are fading. Speaking on Cointelegraph's Chain Reaction show, he stated that deeper liquidity has brought stability to digital assets.
Nadareski pointed out that liquidity across major crypto trading pairs has increased significantly, even during bear markets, reducing the conditions that produced sharp price swings seen in previous cycles. He added that crypto is increasingly a market for institutional capital and household wealth rather than speculative trading.
As a result of growing institutional participation and deeper markets, Nadareski hopes to see reduced volatility in crypto markets. 'We don't want to go through 2017,' he said. 'We don't want to go through 2021. We don't want to go through these massive fluctuations.'
The comments come as blockchain analytics firm Glassnode and asset manager Fasanara Digital reported that Bitcoin's one-year realized volatility had fallen from 84.4% to 43%. They attributed this partly to growing market depth and institutional participation.
