Crypto Markets Stabilize Near $83k as Treasury Yields Hit 2007 High
Bitcoin's price has stabilized near $83,000 after a recent pullback from highs above $87,000. The largest cryptocurrency is facing pressure from rising oil prices and higher bond yields, which are fueling bets on another Federal Reserve rate hike.
The main pressure on crypto markets is coming from bond markets and energy prices. The 10-year Treasury yield has risen to about 5.25%, its highest level since 2007, making it harder for investors to hold assets that pay no income, including bitcoin.
Bitcoin ETFs have seen strong inflows despite the price drop, with $2.39 billion flowing into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs last week, the strongest week since October 2025. Solana ETFs also posted a record week, attracting $188 million in new money.
