Crypto Markets Steady Ahead of Fed Meeting Despite Fragile Adoption
The cryptocurrency market has stabilized slightly ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting, where markets expect interest rates to remain unchanged. Bitcoin (BTC) rose by 0.3% to $64,849.77 on July 27, while Ethereum (ETH) gained 1.6% to $1,944.54 and Solana (SOL) increased by 0.7% to $75.84.
The improvement in risk appetite is attributed to falling oil prices and a decrease in U.S.-Iran tensions, which have eased inflation fears. However, institutional adoption remains fragile, as demonstrated by over $465 million in outflows from spot Bitcoin ETF flows during the final two days of last week.
Analysts view recent closure announcements from crypto exchanges BitMEX and BitMart as signs that the market is struggling, not a signal that the end of the slump is near. Emma Newbery notes that institutional adoption remains fragile and warns against over-optimism.
