Crypto Markets Take Hit as Cardano and Dogecoin Lead Declines
Cryptocurrency markets took a turn for the worse in evening trade as several major tokens suffered notable losses, while Bitcoin and Ethereum remained relatively stable.
Bitcoin's value slipped by just 0.08% to $63,493.26, but its resilience stood out against a backdrop of broader selling pressure. In contrast, Ethereum edged up a marginal 0.01% to $1,881.31, essentially flat on the session.
Larger losses were seen elsewhere, however. Cardano plummeted by 3.00% to $0.18, making it the worst performer of the session, while Dogecoin declined by 2.95% to $0.07. Other notable decliners included XRP, which dropped 1.61% to $1.01 and fell below the psychologically significant $1.02 level.
The only glimmer of hope was provided by Avalanche, which rose by 0.68% to $6.36, bucking the broader downward trend. Nevertheless, the session painted a cautious picture for altcoin investors, with smaller-cap tokens bearing the brunt of selling activity.
