Crypto Markets Waver as Risk-Off Tone Grips Digital Assets
Crypto markets took a hit in evening trading, with a risk-off tone settling across digital assets. Bitcoin's relative resilience couldn't stem the tide of selling pressure, which spread across major cryptocurrencies.
The largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization inched lower by 0.49% to $78,595.56, while Ethereum declined 1.67% to $2,441.01 and BNB fell 1.59% to $692.62. Solana dropped 1.47% to $97.19, and XRP lost 2.84% to $1.44.
Avalanche also took a hit, declining 2.55% to reach $7.35. But it was the smaller-cap tokens that suffered the sharpest losses. Dogecoin plunged 4.06% to $0.09, while Cardano plummeted 5.25% to $0.21.
The broad-based decline suggests investors are trimming exposure and taking a cautious approach to digital assets. Bitcoin's relative steadiness offered little support to the wider market as altcoins bore the brunt of the selling.
