Crypto Millionaire Numbers Fall as Global Ownership Reaches Record High
The number of cryptocurrency millionaires has declined to 135,694 worldwide as the digital asset market contracted to $2.6 trillion. Despite this decline, global crypto ownership reached a record high of 742 million people.
BTC remains the dominant choice among wealthy investors, accounting for more than two-thirds of individuals holding at least $1 million in cryptocurrency, with 92,272 people holding this amount in Bitcoin alone.
The market correction was less severe than previous downturns, with Bitcoin trading around 38% below its October 2025 peak. The report notes that the decline in crypto millionaire numbers is a reversal from the sharp wealth expansion seen during the previous market cycle.
Henley & Partners' Crypto Wealth Report 2026 also highlights the growing importance of residence and citizenship choices for wealthy crypto holders, who are increasingly seeking advice on how to structure their affairs and minimize tax liabilities.
