Crypto Millionaires Hit Record High as 290 Individuals Hold Over $100M
According to recent figures from Henley & Partners, the number of crypto millionaires has surged to 135,694. This includes approximately 92,272 Bitcoin millionaires.
The majority of these individuals have chosen to self-custody their assets, which allows for greater mobility and flexibility in managing their wealth.
Despite a significant price drop from its all-time high above $125,000 last year, many large whales have opted to retain their holdings, citing inflation and fiat risks as concerns.
A total of 290 individuals now hold at least $100 million worth of digital assets, with 151 of them actively holding Bitcoin. This highlights the growing dominance of Bitcoin in the market, which currently boasts a $1.54 trillion market cap compared to the wider crypto market's $2.62 trillion.
Crypto billionaires are also on the rise, with 21 individuals holding Bitcoin and 9 of those holding it exclusively. The surge in adoption is driven by spot Bitcoin ETF approvals, corporate treasury buying, and a shift toward wealth management and self-custody.
