Crypto Mom Hester Peirce Officially Submits Resignation from SEC Commission

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, known as 'Crypto Mom,' has announced her official resignation. The news comes after she published a photograph of her resignation letter on social media with a message reading: 'T minus 7.' According to the letter, Peirce's departure will become effective on October 2.

In a statement, Peirce expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as an SEC commissioner, calling it 'the honor of my professional lifetime.' She also emphasized the importance of balancing regulatory boundaries with individual investment choices, stating: 'I leave this position confident that under the excellent leadership of Chairman Paul Atkins and Commissioner Mark Uyeda, the talented men and women of the Securities and Exchange Commission will continue to achieve that balance.'

Pierce's resignation was not unexpected, as she had served as an SEC commissioner since January 2018 and her term was set to end in 2025. However, SEC rules allow commissioners to remain in office for approximately 18 months more.
