Crypto Ownership Doesn't Equal Conviction for Long-Term Wealth Building
A new survey by Nexo, a digital assets wealth platform, reveals that 67% of affluent investors own cryptocurrency. However, only 4.7% include it in their long-term wealth plans.
The survey, released on September 23, found that over 90% of affluent 18-25-year-olds say they own some crypto, but a mere 2% report owning it for 10 years or more. This suggests that Bitcoin ownership does not equal conviction about long-term wealth building via cryptocurrencies.
Nexo argues that the biggest barriers to wider crypto adoption are increasingly practical ones, including security concerns, high fees, and complicated platforms. The survey also found that risk perception barely separates investors who've built real wealth with crypto from those who haven't.
