Crypto Ownership Plummets Among U.S. Adults and Investors
Crypto ownership has declined among U.S. adults and investors over the past year, according to a Gallup survey.
The share of Americans owning cryptocurrency fell from 14% to 9%, while investors with $10,000 or more in investable assets saw their ownership rate drop from 17% to 11%
Two-thirds of investors say they aren't interested in buying crypto, up just a few percentage points from last year.
The share of investors who plan to buy crypto remains flat at around 20%, while young men aged 18-49 are the most likely to own cryptocurrency.
Expert Stephen Kates predicts bitcoin and Ethereum will remain 'mildly popular' but volatile assets, while other cryptocurrencies may fade into obscurity or remain speculative outlets.
