Crypto PAC Fairshake Spends Big on 32 House Candidates
Fairshake PAC, a major political action committee backing the crypto industry, announced on Monday that it would donate $1 million each to six House candidates, three Republicans and three Democrats, as part of its broader election spending strategy. The recipients include top House Financial Services panel Republicans such as French Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Steil of Wisconsin, and Bill Huizenga of Michigan, along with Democrats Janelle Bynum of Oregon, Steven Horsford of Nevada, and Derek Tran of California.
The PAC’s spending comes after the House passed the Clarity Act in July 2025, a bill aimed at setting rules for digital assets markets. Despite industry support, the bill stalled in the Senate due to bipartisan disagreements over ethics guardrails and other aspects of the legislation. Fairshake has now shifted its focus to the fall elections, aiming to support pro-crypto candidates and challenge perceived opponents.
In total, Fairshake is donating to 32 House candidates, including high-profile incumbents like Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California and Majority Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota. The PAC had $108 million on hand as of August, according to the Federal Election Commission, and has already secured victories in 53 of the 57 races it engaged in this cycle.
Fairshake’s largest donors include Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreesen Horowitz. The group also plans to spend $30 million against Democrat Sherrod Brown, a crypto skeptic running for Senate in Ohio. Fairshake’s spokesperson Geoff Vetter emphasized the organization’s bipartisan approach, stating, 'We back pro-crypto candidates who support American innovation in both parties.'
