Crypto PAC focuses on safe House races to build ally network
The cryptocurrency industry’s leading super PAC, Fairshake, is preparing to invest millions in House races nationwide. However, the focus is on candidates in safe districts rather than competitive ones. Of the 32 incumbents Fairshake plans to back, only four are in races deemed competitive by the Cook Political Report.
Andy LaVigne, director of politics and partnerships at Third Way, noted that many of these races are unlikely to be decisive in the broader political landscape. The strategy allows the crypto industry to build a network of allies who will likely support its agenda once in office.
This approach also helps Fairshake maintain a high win rate, which could deter lawmakers from opposing crypto interests. However, the overall impact on the House’s balance of power remains minimal, even as Democrats face the possibility of regaining majorities.
