Crypto PAC Injects $11.4 Million into Ohio Senate Race

Share

A pro-crypto political action committee has injected $11.4 million into Ohio's U.S. Senate race, backing Republican Jon Husted and targeting Democrat Sherrod Brown.

The Defend American Jobs PAC disclosed its spending to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in a Thursday filing, revealing that it has committed substantial resources to support Husted and block Brown from returning to the Senate.

Fairshake, an affiliated group backed by Coinbase and Ripple Labs, initially pledged to spend $30 million in Ohio's contest. The new disclosure shows that Defend American Jobs PAC is already well underway in meeting this goal.

Ohio's U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown has been a vocal critic of pro-crypto policy, chairing the Senate Banking Committee and expressing concerns about how cryptocurrency could affect consumers and financial stability.
