Crypto-Paid Vandalism Network Exposed in South Korea

A network of individuals paid in cryptocurrency to commit vandalism on residential properties has been exposed in South Korea. According to police, suspects were hired through Telegram channels that posted and rapidly deleted recruitment ads.

One suspect was arrested after being traced to his home in Guri, where he told officers he was paid approximately $556 in cryptocurrency for vandalizing a 15th-floor apartment door with food waste and human feces. Similar attacks occurred in Gunpo and Pyeongtaek, where three men were hired to vandalize a door with soybean paste and syrup for around $345.

The police believe an organized 'private revenge' network is behind the coordinated campaign, but the masterminds remain at large. The suspects themselves claim they did not know who hired them.
