Crypto Regulations Nearing Completion After White House and CFTC Meetings
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse believes U.S. crypto regulations are nearing completion after meeting with the White House and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The meetings brought together cryptocurrency executives, traditional financial institutions, and regulators to discuss digital asset legislation, capital formation, tokenization, and U.S. technological competitiveness.
According to Garlinghouse, 'the big picture has never been clearer': 67 million Americans hold crypto today, which is nearly one in four. He emphasized that digital assets have developed into a politically and economically significant industry, stating, 'Crypto isn't a fringe industry.'
The CLARITY Act, a bill aimed at establishing federal market structure rules for digital assets, still faces unresolved disputes in Congress. Despite this, Garlinghouse remains optimistic, saying, 'We've never been closer' to clear regulations.
