Crypto Sentiment Starts Strong in 2026 Despite Fear Signals
Crypto social sentiment entered the new year on a positive note, according to Santiment analyst Brian Quinlivan. Despite fear signals from other indicators, investors are feeling optimistic about the market's prospects.
However, Quinlivan warned that sustained market upside depends on retail investors maintaining caution rather than rushing into positions. He noted that historically, markets have dropped shortly after reaching all-time highs or cycle peaks due to retail euphoria.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index posted a Fear score of 29 in its Saturday update, which Quinlivan attributed to the holiday season. Bitcoin traded at $91,130 at the time of publication, up 1.77% over 24 hours according to CoinMarketCap.
