Crypto Stocks Gain Spotlight Amid U.S., Iran Standoff, Three Listed Companies Emerge
The ongoing U.S., Iran standoff over the Strait of Hormuz has pushed crypto back into the spotlight, attracting investors seeking assets that move differently than traditional oil and bond trades. As a result, listed businesses tied to digital assets and blockchain infrastructure are gaining attention.
According to Simply Wall St, three stocks from their curated crypto and blockchain basket are worth considering: CoreWeave (CRWV), Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), and Applied Digital (APLD). These companies have significant market caps: $48.32 billion for CoreWeave, $16.62 billion for Bitmine Immersion Technologies, and $7.65 billion for Applied Digital.
CoreWeave operates a GPU-heavy cloud platform that powers crypto mining, blockchain validation, and AI workloads. The company reports $7.59 billion in data processing revenue, with the majority generated in the United States ($7.01 billion) and the rest from other regions ($577 million). However, CoreWeave faces potential risks if major cloud providers internalize their compute capacity.
Bitmine Immersion Technologies focuses on ETH and BTC treasury operations, mining services, and equipment sales. The company recorded $61 million in revenue from the cryptocurrency mining industry, all generated within the United States. As with many crypto-related businesses, Bitmine Immersion Technologies is associated with high growth expectations as well as funding, dilution, and profitability risks.
Applied Digital designs, builds, and operates power-hungry data centers that host cryptocurrency miners alongside broader high-performance and AI workloads. The company generates $385 million from its HPC Hosting Segment and roughly $154 million from its Data Center Hosting Segment. Applied Digital has secured long-term leasing agreements with CoreWeave for its purpose-built AI/HPC data center campus, representing a total of $7 billion in contracted revenue.
