Crypto Super PAC Backs 32 House Candidates in Midterm Push
Fairshake, a prominent cryptocurrency super PAC, has announced its support for candidates in 32 House races ahead of the midterm elections. The organization is backing 13 Democrats and 19 Republicans, with a notable financial commitment of $1 million each for six key candidates. These include Reps. Janelle Bynum (D-Ore.), Steven Horsford (D-Nev.), Derek Tran (D-Calif.), French Hill (R-Ark.), Bill Huizenga (R-Mich.), and Bryan Steil (R-Wis.).
The super PAC's spokesperson, Geoff Vetter, emphasized Fairshake's focus on pro-crypto candidates from both parties. Vetter highlighted the organization's success in previous races, stating they have won 53 out of 57 races engaged in this cycle. The support extends to influential figures in the digital asset space, such as Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn Thompson (R-Pa.), and House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-Mo.).
Among the Democrats receiving Fairshake's backing are Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (Calif.) and Reps. Brendan Boyle (Pa.), Josh Gottheimer (N.J.), Jonathan Jackson (Ill.), Lucy McBath (Ga.), Sarah McBride (Del.), Jimmy Panetta (Calif.), Hillary Scholten (Mich.), Terri Sewell (Ala.), and Suhas Subramanyam (Va.). This support is significant, especially after a key crypto bill failed to advance in the Senate last month, with every Democrat and a handful of Republicans blocking the measure.
Despite the setback, Fairshake, which had $108 million in cash on hand as of August, continues to show bipartisan support. The organization's commitment to pro-crypto candidates underscores its role in shaping the political landscape around digital assets.
