Crypto Theft Soars: $3.63B Stolen Since 2025 Amid State-Sponsored Attacks

Share

The recent Crypto Security Report has shed light on the alarming trend of cryptocurrency thefts since 2025. According to the report, a staggering $3.63 billion has been stolen across 245 incidents in this period.

The report, released by Bobby Ong, co-founder and COO of CoinGecko and GeckoTerminal, reveals that nearly 60% of these breaches targeted protocols that had passed audits.

This rise in thefts can be attributed to the shift from lone operators to organized state-sponsored groups, which have become increasingly sophisticated in their tactics.
