Crypto Theft Surge Hits Record High with $766 Million in September Losses
Crypto thefts have surged dramatically in September, reaching a record high of $766.49 million in losses due to two massive incidents.
The total figure represents a 462% month-over-month increase from August's $136.3 million, according to security firm PeckShieldAlert.
The Bitget incident and the Liquid Network theft, which saw losses of approximately $387 million and $320 million respectively, have jumped to the top spots among the largest crypto thefts of the year to date.
