Crypto Thefts Soar 462% to Record $766.49 Million in September

Crypto thefts surged dramatically in September, with total losses reaching a record $766.49 million. The figure represents a 462% month-over-month increase from August's $136.3 million.

The two largest incidents were the Bitget hack, which resulted in losses of around $387 million, and the Liquid Network theft of approximately $320 million. Notably, $285 million of the stolen funds from the Liquid Network hack were returned.

Other notable incidents include an MEV bot yoink front-run at $7.81 million, which was partially recovered, as well as smaller exploits with partial recoveries.
