Crypto Traders Abandon Loyal Platforms
A new study by ChainUp has revealed that 60% of active crypto traders have switched their primary trading venue in the past 24 months, signaling a significant erosion of brand loyalty.
The report, titled 'Exchange Operator's Intelligence Report 2026', found that 99% of traders are willing to migrate platforms for even minor improvements in execution utility or token availability.
According to ChainUp's CEO Sailor Zhong, the market has reached a critical point where being 'technically sound' is no longer enough to protect liquidity. Traders will penalize a platform for operational friction, making it essential for exchange operators to move beyond user acquisition and focus on building platforms that users never outgrow.
The report highlights the growing 'satisfaction gap' between user expectations and current platform capabilities, which acts as a silent value killer for exchange operators. Traders are increasingly looking for platforms that provide a seamless user experience, with interface quality being a decisive factor in venue selection.
