The investigation into the kidnapping and murder of Mir Raza Ali, owner of the dessert shop Wafflix, has taken a new turn. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has obtained six months' worth of data from Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, to help trace the movement of suspected funds.

The agency has been analyzing the data, which includes several pages of technical records, in a format similar to a call detail record (CDR). According to sources, the NCCIA has coding and forensic experts who are working on decoding the data to identify the flow of funds through cryptocurrency wallets.

By using transaction IDs and hashes, investigators can locate corresponding records on public blockchains. This process, known as tracing the 'flow of funds', aims to establish which wallet the suspected funds originated from, where they were transferred, and which other addresses received them.
