Crypto VC Activity Rebounds in Q2 2026
Crypto and blockchain venture capital activity rebounded in Q2 2026 after cooling in Q1, according to new data. Venture capitalists deployed approximately $5.683 billion into privately held crypto and blockchain-related companies across 384 deals, a 31% quarter-over-quarter increase in capital invested.
The rise in later-stage financing was the primary driver of the rebound, with larger financings contributing disproportionately to Q2's growth. This marks the second consecutive quarter of increasing venture activity, with $10.018 billion invested in crypto across 744 deals for the year so far.
Despite this growth, raising new venture funds remains challenging, with only five new crypto venture funds raised in Q2, totaling roughly $3.9 billion, a figure lower than seen since Q4 2019.
