Crypto Whales Quietly Accumulate Aave, Uniswap, and Moonriver Ahead of Midterms
Crypto whales are quietly accumulating positions in three altcoins, Aave (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), and Moonriver (MOVR), as September ends. According to data from Santiment and Nansen, large holders have added these tokens in recent days.
The buying in AAVE has been the most pronounced, with wallets holding between 100,000 and 1 million AAVE tokens adding roughly 190,000 tokens since September 28. This is worth around $30 million at current prices. Much of this buying occurred while AAVE was rising toward $176, and these holdings have since remained largely unchanged, suggesting whales have held through the pullback.
On the other hand, Uniswap presents a different picture. Whales have added about 1.13 million UNI tokens since September 28, worth roughly $10 million, even as the token fell from $9.66 toward $8.45. This looks like dip-buying, but whale holdings remain below levels seen earlier this month, so the latest accumulation has only recovered part of previous selling.
Moonriver is the speculative outlier, with MOVR surging nearly 80% in 24 hours. Nansen data showed balances held by the top 100 addresses on one tracked contract rose by more than 11%. This points to aggressive momentum buying, but also comes with much higher risk, given MOVR's market cap of roughly $22 million.
