Cryptocurrency Prices Teeter on Pivotal Moment
Bitcoin's (BTC) price has been consolidating around $64,200 for most of July and August after rising from its late-June low of about $58,000. The short-term technical structure has improved slightly with the short-term moving averages being exceeded by Bitcoin and the RSI at 52 giving buyers a slight momentum advantage.
However, BTC hasn't been able to convert this stabilization into a bigger breakout. The most significant near-term resistance is in the $66,000, $67,000 area, with the next major moving average located close to $66,300 and having a downward slope.
Ethereum (ETH) is also near a technically significant turning point as it compresses around $1,900. In contrast to Bitcoin, Ethereum has developed a clear converging structure, with support rising beneath the current price and resistance falling toward it.
