Cryptocurrency Scammers Nabbed in South Korea After Luring Victim with False Trading Deal

A group of individuals lured a victim into a cryptocurrency trading deal that turned out to be a scam. The suspects, two men in their 40s identified as A and B, tricked the man by promising lower transaction fees for a face-to-face trade.

They convinced him to drink a beverage suspected to contain drugs, which left the victim disoriented. While he was incapacitated, the scammers took 35 million won in cash from his possession.

The victim woke up five hours later but couldn't recall what had transpired earlier. The police investigated and arrested A and B, with one being taken into custody. They are currently facing charges of special robbery.
