Cuentas Secures Texas Power-and-Hosting Pact for Up to 24 MW at $0.05/kWh

Cuentas Inc., a company involved in Bitcoin mining operations, has entered into a significant agreement with Power Upp USA. The deal, signed on September 20, 2026, involves the provision of up to 24 megawatts (MW) of power and hosting services for Bitcoin mining at a West Texas site.

Under the terms of the agreement, Cuentas will be able to deploy up to ten 2.4 MW container sets, accommodating approximately 4,200 ASIC miners. These deployments are expected to occur every 90 days. The one-time charges associated with this deal include $500,000 per container for ASICs and a $90,000 security deposit each.

Recurring fees will be calculated based on 5% of Gross Mining Revenues, $2,500 per month, and an energy charge of $0.05/kWh. However, these charges are subject to adjustments. The agreement has a 36-month term with an auto-renewal option for 12-month periods.

Cuentas' agreement with Power Upp USA includes provisions for minimum utilization, requiring a take-or-pay clause of at least 80%. Additionally, the company can opt out of the agreement without incurring early fees if the Bitcoin price falls below $55,000. This option gives Cuentas flexibility in managing its costs and operations.
