Curve Accuses PancakeSwap of Code Copying, Warns of 'Historically Unwise' Approach
Crypto protocol Curve Finance has accused PancakeSwap of copying its StableSwap code without permission. The alleged violation is deemed illegal by Curve, which warns that such actions have historically proven unwise for projects that have taken similar approaches.
The dispute arose just days after PancakeSwap launched a new StableSwap feature on March 1. Curve's accusation comes in the wake of its own previous issues with Saddle Finance, which also implemented a StableSwap without prior licensing authorization.
Curve posted on X: 'Looks like you copied our code without asking. It is violation of its license. Not only it is illegal: historically it showed to be unwise for those who did it this way in other regards.'
PancakeSwap responded briefly, saying: 'We're reaching out to your team directly to discuss this.' The protocol processed $2.36 trillion in trading volume in 2025 and holds approximately $2 billion in combined TVL across its various pool types.
