Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) recently revealed why he chose to face US prosecutors despite holding UAE citizenship that could have shielded him from US law enforcement.

CZ talked about his decision in a fireside chat with Anthony Scaramucci at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, where he stated he had become a UAE citizen approximately six months before the Binance case became public.

The country has no extradition treaty with the USA, but CZ said that option didn't feel honorable to him: 'That's just the wrong thing to do.'

CZ believed resolving the case one way or another was better for himself, Binance, BNB holders, and the wider crypto industry.
